If a moving company doesn’t display their prices online, it’s likely they may include hidden fees, leading to unexpected costs for your move.
“How can I verify if my movers are licensed and insured?”
To verify if your movers are licensed and insured, you can check their U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) number on the FMCSA website to confirm their registration as a mover, which includes verifying their licensing status; you can also ask them to provide proof of insurance coverage, including liability insurance for potential damages during the move.

- DOT number: Every legitimate interstate mover must have a DOT number assigned by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
