Frequently Asked Questions
Please read our moving FAQ to find the answers to the questions you may have about your upcoming move. If we missed something please let us know.
In most cases, yes. We will be able to do most moves during the rain. However, if the weather is severe, we may have to pause or delay the start time and proceed once the rain has passed or slowed down. There are other weather events such as severe lightning storms, ice or snow that can also affect our ability to move you. In those cases, the crew leader will assess the situation and make a decision on whether or not we will be able to complete your move on that day. The crew will take the following precautions to limit water damage to your furniture and floors:
- Wrap items with extra shrink wrap and pads
- Lay down pads in the entryway and use floor runners in the hallways and rooms
- We will bring in the patio furniture last to ensure we do not track mud inside the house.
We recommend that you purchase MATTRESS COVERS for your mattresses in order to get the best protection and to keep them clean. Our shrink wrap is not strong enough and will usually tear during the move, and will not keep the mattress dry in the event that it rains. We may sometimes have mattress covers in our truck but we cannot guarantee it.
Yes, we will certainly help take your TVs off the wall and, in most cases, we can take the wall mount off the wall as well. However, we do not install TVs back on the wall.
To ensure that we transport your items safely, we need to inspect your TVs before and after we move them. OLED TVs are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to be put into their original boxes, or at least a TV/picture box to ensure it is moved safely.
A licensed and reliable moving company has such information on their website. If that’s not the case, call the movers and ask for proof of licensure. You can also verify their USDOT# and Motor Carrier Number. Never hire an unlicensed mover!
The safest way to transport a refrigerator is to have it completely empty. The weight of the food can damage shelves or the bottom freezer slide rails. If you have a deep freezer or an upright freezer without glass shelves then you may leave all the contents inside. We normally move refrigerators last and unload first, so contents can be kept cool if placed in a cooler with ice.
It is not required to put in any effort if you hire professional movers. On the other hand, if you would like to help, you will be more than welcome to do so. We only ask that you do not get into our moving trucks for safety and liability reasons.
We will help disassemble/reassemble your beds for you. We have the tools and the know-how to take care of any type of bed that you may have. However, for sleep number beds or similar types of beds, the manufacturer requires you to ask them to disassemble/reassemble the bed in order for you to keep your warranty.
The answer is yes. However, if you have a dresser that is not in a great shape or made with particle board then it would be best to remove all contents before the movers arrive. All breakable items must be removed from dressers, nightstands or any other furniture.
Yes, we will help you with all the appliances. The best way to move a front load washer is to install the shipping bolts to prevent the shock absorbers from breaking. You will have to provide us with the shipping bolts that came with your washer. In some cases, you may also have to change your dryer cord to match the power outlet in your new home. We can provide you with the cord if we have an extra in our truck for an additional fee. (We don’t install stoves or dishwashers).
The best way to keep everyone safe is to make sure there are no kids or pets running around while the movers are working.
In the case that you need to change your move date, we will do all we can to accommodate you. We do ask that you give us a 48-hour notice from your move date to avoid a forfeiture of your deposit.
