“How can I know there won’t be any hidden fees?”

We offer complete transparency with our pricing, providing all clients with upfront fees. All of our rates are clearly listed on our website, except for the service charge, which depends on the size and location of each move. If a moving company doesn’t display their prices online, it’s likely they may include hidden fees, leading to unexpected costs for your move.

“How can I verify if my movers are licensed and insured?”

To verify if your movers are licensed and insured, you can check their U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) number on the FMCSA website to confirm their registration as a mover, which includes verifying their licensing status; you can also ask them to provide proof of insurance coverage, including liability insurance for potential damages during the move.

    Key points to remember:

    • DOT number: Every legitimate interstate mover must have a DOT number assigned by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
    • FMCSA website: https://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/hhg/search.asp?
Use the FMCSA’s “Mover Registration Search Tool” to look up a moving company’s DOT number and verify their registration status.
    • Proof of insurance: Ask the moving company to provide documentation showing their liability insurance coverage.

Here is a message directly from the TXDMV:

“We understand that moving can be stressful, and the TxDMV is here to help protect you. That’s why we say, ‘Don’t Make a Move Without Us!’ Texas law requires all movers to be licensed with the TxDMV, and hiring an unlicensed mover could put your belongings at risk.

“Remember, the lowest price isn’t always the best deal—especially those found on internet message boards or sites. You could end up dealing with a dishonest moving company that may demand more money to unload your belongings or fail to deliver them altogether.

“Before you hire a mover, check our Truck Stop database to verify if the company is licensed with the TxDMV. A licensed Texas mover will have an ‘Active’ TxDMV certificate number on file.

“We’ve also provided Moving Tips and a Moving Checklist to guide you through your move. If you encounter any issues, we’re here to help.”
